A rotational smoothness hitherto unimaginable with "classic" direct drive mechanisms...
The most prominent feature of the Oasis turntable is most probably its direct drive mechanism.
In their never-ending search to improve sound quality, Brinkmann did not stop short of evaluating different drive mechanisms or other alternatives such as belts of various consistencies. It was quickly discovered, however, that belts impart a fundamental sonic characteristic on the sound. It was therefore decided to forgo them altogether for this new model Oasis turntable.
To smoothen out the drive's miniscule speed variations, a precision bearing is utilised and combined with Brinkmanns own permanent magnet mechanism the result is a rotational smoothness hitherto unimaginable with "classic" direct drive mechanisms.
