MT3FSL Floorstanders
3-way Active Floorstanders
Following the overwhelmingly positive response and popularity of the MT3F's, we were flooded with requests to provide as much of this performance as possible at a more affordable price range. We hit the drawing board again to figure out where we could reduce the costs with as little sonic impact as possible. The result is the MT3F Slim Line.
The MT3FSL's use the same suite of high-end drivers as their big brother MT3F's. It's exactly the same MT enclosure. Same construction technique, just a different finish. It's no secret that our infamous high-gloss 2-pack finish adds significantly to the product cost, so in this case we did away with it and simply polished the polymer external skin. This leaves a very elegant and durable semi-matte surface of which any colour is available, as long as it's black :-)
Including only one bass driver per speaker resulted in a reduction to the required enclosure volume. This allowed a slimmer bass enclosure and hence smaller overall footprint. A straight sided box without compound angles greatly simplified the build process and time taken. Similar bass response, just a little less headroom.
Where the MT3F's are driven by the Elite series amplifiers, the MT3FSL's achieve an affordable excellence through a minimised box count inclusive of the onboard amplifiers and crossovers.

Drivers
- Scan Speak Revelator ring-radiator tweeter, low distortion and power compression with a bandwidth out to 40Khz
- 5" Eton Symphony midrange. 3-layer Hexacone sandwich diaphragm with Kapton voice coil and aluminium phase plug. Soon to be replaced by a purpose designed and Australian built SGR 5" FEA optimised paper cone midrange.
- 10" long-throw, low-distortion paper cone woofer optimised for sealed box use. Purpose designed and custom built.
Bass Enclosure
- Double constrained layer damped construction consisting of dual marine plywood internal walls with a high-density external polymer skin.
- Extensive interlocking bracing system, marine ply.
- Internally treated with SGR Selective MemBrane (SMB) technology to eliminate standing waves and box induced colorations.
- Seamless construction technique with no visible join lines. Remains stable over time.
- Magnetically attached grille.
- Custom made marine grade stainless steel spikes with level adjustment and locking nut.
Mid-Hi Enclosure
- Stacked layer highly-damped marine plywood internal structure with a high-density external polymer skin.
- Floating front baffle isolated from the enclosure and mounted with shock-mounts. No mechanical connection between the drivers and the enclosure walls.
- Internally treated with SGR Selective MemBrane (SMB) technology to eliminate standing waves and box induced colorations.
- Seamless construction technique with no visible join lines. Remains stable over time.
- Sorbothane isolation pucks stop bass enclosure vibrations from modulating the midrange output.
- Magnetically attached grille.
Electronics
- Purpose designed SGR 3-way plate amplifier.
- Class AB amplifier channels with all analog active crossover circuitry.
- Individual HI and MID level adjustment with centre detent. +/- 3dB adjustment.
- Selectable high pass crossover achieves an acoustically aligned 40Hz LR4 response for use with a subwoofer.
- Subwoofer output, 40Hz LR4 low-passed with level adjustment +/- 6dB
- Selectable room gain compensation helps tune the bass response to suit any room.
- RCA single ended & XLR balanced inputs
- Microprocessor controlled with auto signal detection and auto standby. No turn on delays, activation within milliseconds.
- Real time monitoring with clip detect and self protect mode.
- Internal power supply with custom low noise shielded transformer.
